This international window is the last before teams select their final squads for this summer’s World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, which starts in June — making it a final chance for managers to audition players.
That is, for the nations who have qualified — with six teams yet to be determined via the intercontinental and UEFA play-offs for the finals, which are also taking place during this break.
It comes at the height of European domestic campaigns and cup competitions, with the Premier League season finishing on May 24, the Champions League at the quarter-finals stage and the FA Cup quarter-finals taking place this weekend.
Here is a complete list of Premier League players who have pulled out of international duty after receiving call-ups through injury concerns.
