What did Donald Trump say about Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show?

President Donald Trump blasted Bad Bunny’s performance at the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show at 9 p.m. on Feb. 8.

“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!” he posted to his social media platform. “It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.”

Trump took affront to the Puerto Rican singer’s use of Spanish, saying that “nobody understands a word this guy is saying.” He also called the dancing “disgusting.”

“This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!” Trump continued. “There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD.”

Trump and Bad Bunny

Trump had already criticized Bad Bunny before he took the stage.

In a New York Post interview in January, Trump called him a “terrible choice” for a halftime show.

Bad Bunny has been a longtime critic of the Trump administration, and he faced intense backlash from both the president and conservatives following the announcement of his performance at the Super Bowl.

In recent weeks, he has criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say, ICE out,” the Puerto Rican singer said after his win for Best Música Urbana Album at the 68th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 1.

Did Trump watch Bad Bunny?

Conservative group Turning Point USA put on an alternative halftime show featuring Kid Rock and others, a show which White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump would probably watch instead.

“I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny, I must say that,” Leavitt said Feb. 5.
