UTICA, N.Y. — If you’re an anime enthusiast, a festival dedicated to this art form is coming to Utica for a one-day event.
The Utica Anime-Fest’s annual convention will be held on Feb. 8 at the Delta by Marriott Hotel in the City of Utica.
According to the organizers, “The Utica Anime-Fest strives to be New York’s best and truest Anime convention featuring fandoms of multiple genres,” organizers stated in a release.
The event will feature vendors catering to a wide range of interests, including Japanese candy, toys, games, movies, television, anime, manga, cosplay, artwork, sketches and apparel.
Attendees will have the chance to meet and greet a lineup of anime industry professionals and celebrities.
Confirmed guests include anime voice actors Peter Kelamis, from Dragon Ball Z Roku, and Chuck Huber.
Anime video game tournaments will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., along with local cosplayer groups, an anime lip sync battle and trivia contests.
A cosplay contest is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Tickets are now available with general admission $20, and children under 11 can go for free.
Cosplay VIP Tickets are priced at $50 and platinum tickets are $100.

The Utica Anime-Fest will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Delta By Marriott Hotel located at 200 Genesee Street.
