The data on electric vehicle sales in India is compiled from the VAHAN portal of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). The portal captures comprehensive information directly from Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) across the country, where all motor vehicles are registered. Each registration record includes details such as the vehicle type, manufacturer, fuel type, and state of registration, among other attributes.
