Twinkling Watermelon is all set to air a brand new episode on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN and streaming on Viki. The series follows the story of a young musically gifted CODA (child of deaf adult) student Eun-Gyeol traveling back in time to 1995, meeting a few friends and forming the band Watermelon Sugar. Eventually, it becomes a journey of him altering lives of his parents.
tvN released the trailer for Episode 12 of Twinkling Watermelon, teasing the cast members navigating their respective relationships. Se-Kyung (Seol In-Ah) is angry with Eun-Gyeol (Ryeoun), while Yi-Chan (Choi Hyun-Wook) and Cheong-Ah (Shin Eun-Soo) dwindle between friendship and love. The K-drama has been significantly popular amongst viewers, with them eagerly waiting for the couples to unite.
Twinkling Watermelon cast navigate their love lives in episode 12
Episode 12 of Twinkling Watermelon will continue from the events of the previous episode when Eun-Gyeol saves Yi-Chan from the accident. However, Eun-Gyeol breaks his promise to Se-Kyung after ditching her during the movie date to save Yi-Chan. As per tvN’s preview trailer, released soon after Episode 11, it is clear that Se-Kyung feels abandoned.
Considering Se-Kyung (Eun-Yu in the present) has memories of feeling abandoned, Eun-Gyeol’s actions only hurt her more. In spite of Eun-Gyeol’s desperate measures to explain, she ignores him wowing to never see him again. Given the looks of the trailer, it is highly possible that Eun-Gyeol might reveal his time travel secret to Se-Kyung in hopes of her choosing him at the music festival. If that happens, his parents, Yi-Chan and Cheong-Ah might get together.
Yi-Chan and the band members promote their performance at the music festival. They name their band, Watermelon Sugar, inviting fellow students to watch their performance. He sees Cheong-Ah and asks her the reason for her visit. She gifts him a guitar pick she made, engraved with her favorite line, “Viva La Vida,” which means “Long Live Life.”
In the trailer, Yi-Chan is seen proudly showcasing the guitar pick to Eun-Gyeol. Meanwhile, Cheong-Ah doesn’t attend the festival fearing that Se-Kyung might choose Yi-Chan to pair with at the music festival. The music festival is near, and Se-Kyung has to decide between choosing Yi-Chan and Eun-Gyeol. Viewers will have to stay tuned to see who she ends up picking.
Cheong-Ah has a hard time thinking that Se-Kyung might have chosen Yi-Chan, so she avoids going to the festival. Yi-Chan visits her to figure out why she didn’t attend the festival. In the trailer clip, he is seen reading a letter which says, “The festival is over. Don’t visit me again. We’re from different worlds after all,” presumably from Cheong-Ah.
He is also seen wearing a necklace with the guitar pick Cheong-Ah made as a pendant, indicating his growing feelings for her. To see what happens between the couples, don’t forget to tune in to Twinkling Watermelon Episode 12 at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN and Viki.
