Radu Drăgușin’s agent, Florin Manea, has confirmed that the Tottenham defender is prioritizing a move to Roma, noting that the player’s history in Serie A makes Italy a “special” destination for him. Speaking to RaiSport (via Calciomercato), Manea revealed that while other offers are on the table, the Romanian international’s preference is firmly with the Giallorossi.
Notably, the player has already reached a total agreement on personal terms with Roma, and the operation now hinges entirely on finding a breakthrough with Tottenham. The Giallorossi are pushing for a loan with an option to buy, while the London club’s valuation remains a hurdle.
Manea was explicit about the fit, stating: “I’m waiting for Tottenham to say yes to Roma to get into the heart of it. There are a couple of offers for him, but Italy is special for Radu and he did very well in Serie A. He is a gladiator and gladiators are at home in Roma.”
Indeed, the agent also took the opportunity to dismiss interest from other Italian suitors, making it clear that Roma is the only viable path back to the peninsula. He commented: “Fiorentina? With all due respect, it wouldn’t be the right path for him. He costs 25 million euros.”
This stance further underlines that Drăgușin has set his sights on working under Gian Piero Gasperini, viewing the capital club as the ideal environment to relaunch his career following a difficult spell in the Premier League.
Consequently, the next few days will be decisive as the clubs continue to negotiate the financial structure of the deal. With the player’s green light secured and the agent publicly pushing for the move, the pressure is now on Tottenham to sanction an exit for the former Genoa man.
