Tom Hiddleston recently offered fans a playful reveal about Robert Downey Jr. while discussing Avengers: Doomsday. During a podcast appearance, the actor acknowledged well-known details about the upcoming Marvel film while carefully avoiding any genuine spoilers.

The Loki actor offered a playful response when pressed for details about Avengers: Doomsday, opting to trick fans with information known to everyone.
Tom Hiddleston addressed questions about the highly anticipated Marvel film during an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast. When asked to share details about the project, he sidestepped the question by casually stating that Robert Downey Jr. is set to portray Doctor Doom.
“Hey, listen. Robert Downey Jr. is playing Doctor Doom,” Hiddleston jokingly deflected. The remark drew cheers and laughter from the audience. It prompted Horowitz to quip, “There’s our exclusive.”
The interview also touched on Loki’s status after the conclusion of Loki Season 2. Horowitz referenced the character’s final scene, in which Loki is shown seated on a throne. The interviewer said, “When last we saw our buddy, he was holding all the timelines together on that throne.” Hiddleston acknowledged, saying, “True.”
Horowitz followed up by saying, “I guess his grip let up a little bit at some point or.” He pressed further, asking whether the character remains seated throughout Avengers: Doomsday or eventually rises from the throne.
Tom Hiddleston responded with, “The last we saw him, he was sitting on the throne,” before adding, “What happens next? You’ll have to wait and see.” Moreover, without divulging much, he stated it was “very exciting” to bring new changes to his portrayal of Loki. The British thespian then acknowledged how it was “amazing” to be a part of the massive ensemble cast.
Directed by the Russo Brothers, Avengers: Doomsday will arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026. The film features several returning MCU stars, including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, and James Marsden as Scott Summers/Cyclops, among others.
