Three Premier League managers most likely to be sacked after Amorim and Maresca

Manchester United surprised Premier League fans when they announced the sacking of Ruben Amorim as their head coach earlier this month.

The Portuguese paid the ultimate price for his stunning outburst against the club’s hierarchy.

Enzo Maresca suffered the same fate at Chelsea for almost similar reasons a few days earlier.

Two departures have already happened in January, and more are expected with clubs desperate to revive their fortunes during the second half of the season.

Below we look at three names who are most likely to be sacked over the coming weeks.

Nuno Espírito Santo

Nuno Espírito Santo worked wonders at Nottingham Forest, taking them from relegation candidates to Champion League contenders.

But he has failed to have a similar impact at West Ham United, who are desperately fighting to maintain their Premier League status.

The Hammers are on a 10-game winless run in the English top-flight, and the club are losing faith in his ability to save them from relegation

Defeat against Tottenham Hotspur next weekend could spell the end for Nuno at West Ham, with Slaven Bilic tipped to return if he is fired.

Thomas Frank

Thomas Frank has failed to meet expectations of Tottenham supporters since taking over in the summer.

The Lilywhites are languishing 14th in the league standings, while they have already been eliminated from both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

Tottenham have a good chance of progressing to the Champions League knockouts, but fans are disappointed with the overall quality of football.

Frank must improve results to appease the supporters, otherwise he could be out of a job soon.

Scott Parker

Burnley are on a 12-game winless run in the Premier League, recording just three points out of a possible 36.

They sit 19th in the league, with eight points away from safety.

Burnley held Manchester United to a 2-2 draw last week, but they need a massive turnaround to have a chance of survival.

Scott Parker led the Clarets to Premier League promotion, but fans don’t think he is capable of keeping them in the top-flight. The club’s hierarchy could be forced to sack him if the poor results continue.
