Netflix has released a new official image from Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2, offering the first glimpse in the upcoming season.
The image offers an updated look at Gordon Cormier’s Aang as the live-action series moves into its next phase. It also highlights a noticeable shift in the character, reflecting the growing stakes following the events of Season 1. The newly released image has further fueled anticipation among fans, who are now eagerly awaiting additional updates.
Season 2 picks up after the battle at the Northern Water Tribe, with Aang, Katara, and Sokka setting out on a new mission. According to the official synopsis, the group seeks to gain the support of the Earth King as the conflict with Fire Lord Ozai intensifies. The new season will see Aang navigating a more complex and dangerous world.
Cormier has hinted in an interview with Netflix that the new season will raise both the emotional and action-driven stakes. “There are going to be some scenes that push the audience to tears, but also make them laugh,” he said. Even Aang’s wardrobe reflects the evolution to season 2. His familiar robes return in Season 2, but with a rougher and more worn look.
For second season, the main cast will return, including Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, and Dallas Liu. The new season will also introduce Toph, portrayed by Miya Cech. Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 is scheduled to premiere in 2026, though an exact release date has not yet been announced. The series has already been renewed for a third season.
