The Major Sports Events Committee today announced that it has awarded “M” Mark status to two events, namely the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF–Hong Kong and the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open 2023.
The events will take place from October 6 to 8 and October 7 to 15 respectively.
The Aramco Team Series will take place in Hong Kong for the first time, while the Hong Kong Tennis Open will be held once again after a four-year hiatus.
Wilfred Ng, the committee’s chairman, said both events will add colour and vibrancy to Hong Kong, thereby bringing in more visitors from abroad.
He added that the events will showcase Hong Kong’s ability to host world-class events and enhance its status as a centre for major international sports events.
The “M” Mark system aims to encourage and help local and national sports associations, as well as private and non-governmental organisations, to organise more sports events and nurture them into sustainable initiatives.
