Despite the volume of violations, Subculture was not ordered to shut down. 

Per BocaNewsNow.com policy, the following is the unedited list of violations filed with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. 

High Priority – Stop Sale issued on time/temperature control for safety food due to temperature abuse…. Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit….ice cream 59F in soft server ice cream machine, food was not prepped or portion today , food being held more than 4 hours. **Warning**

High Priority – Toxic substance/chemical improperly stored….bleach spray bottle stored Hemp seeds, bagel topping, jam , Single serve to go container at front counter. Manager removed bleach spray bottle. **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Intermediate – Handwash sink not accessible for employee use at all times….stored unused plate, soap container inside handwashing sink by the tree compartment sink . Manager removed those things. **Corrected On-Site** **Repeat Violation** **Warning**

Intermediate – Handwash sink used for purposes other than handwashing….some food evidence ( coffee, spinach) in handwashing sink at front line. **Warning**

Intermediate – No paper towels or mechanical hand drying device provided at handwash sink by the three compartment sink. **Warning**

Basic – Wet wiping cloth not stored in sanitizing solution between uses at front line …manager removed **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Basic – Wash/Rinse/Sanitizing solution not maintained clean…manager drained water **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Basic – Soiled dry wiping cloth in use. **Warning**

Subculture Coffee Delray
It’s not just dogs in Subculture Coffee in Delray (as seen in late April of 2025) that may make you want to reconsider patronizing the restaurant. It’s 16 health code violations filed by the State of Florida.

Basic – Reach-in cooler interior/shelves have accumulation of soil residues…all reach in coolers and reach in freezers in the establishment. **Warning**

Basic – Nonfood-contact surface soiled with grease, food debris, dirt, slime or dust…heavy soiled build up all handwashing sink at, dumped sink **Warning**

Basic – No handwashing sign provided at a hand sink used by food employees…by the three compartment sink . **Warning**

Basic – Ice machine , reach in coolers exterior soiled. **Warning**

Basic – Floor soiled/has accumulation of debris…underneath equipment, shelvings **Warning**

Basic – Accumulation of debris in three-compartment sink. **Warning**

Basic – Accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine/bin….heavy soiled build in ice machine. **Warning**

Subculture Coffee’s inspection was April 21, 2025. It was reinspected on April 22 and one violation was logged. It was inspected again later that day and no violations were recorded.
