Snapper Creek Energy Expands Platform with Launch of Foreign Exchange Desk

Tim Cunningham Joins Snapper Creek as Head of FX, Bringing Decades of Institutional Foreign Exchange Expertise

New Desk Extends Snapper Creek’s Reach into Global Currency Markets, Serving the Same Institutional Client Base Across Energy and Financial Markets

MIAMI, May 13, 2026–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Snapper Creek Energy (“Snapper Creek” or “SCE”), an innovative data-driven commodity brokerage specializing in traditional and transitional energy markets, today announced the launch of its Foreign Exchange (FX) desk, marking the firm’s entry into global currency markets.

The desk will be led by Tim Cunningham, who has joined the firm as Head of Foreign Exchange of the Snapper Creek FX desk, where he will lead institutional coverage of global currency markets alongside veteran colleagues Corey Cubito and Michael Rotando.

Mr. Cunningham is a seasoned institutional foreign exchange professional with more than two decades of experience across electronic FX sales, trading, and team leadership. He has held senior roles at a number of leading financial institutions, including Liquidnet, Marex, Cowen Prime Services, BTIG, RJ O’Brien, and Saxo Bank, building deep relationships with institutional clients across hedge funds, banks, FCMs, and proprietary trading firms throughout his career.

“The launch of our Foreign Exchange desk is a natural and compelling extension of the Snapper Creek platform,” said Sid Perkins, Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Snapper Creek Energy. “Our institutional client base — spanning banks, macro hedge funds, energy companies, and trading firms — are active participants in global currency markets, and FX is deeply intertwined with the commodities and energy ecosystem we serve every day. We believe offering clients seamless access to both markets through a single trusted counterparty is a meaningful and differentiated proposition. Tim brings exceptional institutional relationships and a proven track record of building high-performing FX businesses, and we are confident that his leadership will further strengthen the value we deliver to clients across the Snapper Creek platform.”

“Snapper Creek has built an impressive franchise in a short period of time, and I am thrilled to join the team at this exciting stage of its growth,” said Mr. Cunningham. “What attracted me to Snapper Creek was the quality and depth of its institutional client relationships and the firm’s genuine commitment to delivering superior execution and market intelligence. Foreign exchange is a natural complement to the energy and commodities markets, and I look forward to building a world-class FX desk that adds real value for clients navigating today’s complex and fast-moving currency landscape.”

The addition of a Foreign Exchange desk further broadens Snapper Creek’s multi-asset platform, which has expanded rapidly since the firm’s founding in 2023. The firm now operates dedicated brokerage desks across natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), physical liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), power, freight, and foreign exchange, alongside an advisory group focused on fundamental research and hedge advisory services. Snapper Creek serves a global institutional clientele from its offices in Miami, Houston, New York, Connecticut, Oslo and London.
