Sky pundit predicts Liverpool’s Champions League pursuit

Neville prediction lifts Liverpool Champions League qualification hopes

Liverpool confidence grows after Fulham result

Liverpool took another important step in their push for Champions League qualification with a controlled 2-0 victory over Fulham at Anfield. It was a performance built on discipline and clarity, and it has sharpened focus on the race for the top five.

Off the pitch, that momentum has been reinforced by comments from Gary Neville, whose latest prediction has added weight to Liverpool’s prospects. His assessment of the run-in highlights how quickly narratives can shift at this stage of the season.

He said: “I think [Chelsea are] gonna have a difficult end to the season and it feels to me now like Chelsea will miss out on Champions League football.

“And a few weeks ago, I think they were in a spot whereby I thought Villa were in free fall and that Chelsea, Liverpool and United would get that third, fourth, fifth spot.

“I actually think now that Chelsea are going to miss out because of what’s happened in this last few weeks and where they’re at”

Chelsea’s recent form supports that view. Five defeats in their last six games, including a 3-0 loss to Manchester City, have disrupted their campaign and allowed rivals to gain ground.

Qualification race shifts towards Liverpool

For Liverpool, this represents an opportunity. Champions League qualification remains a central objective, and recent results have placed them in a strong position heading into a demanding schedule.

Virgil van Dijk has underlined the importance of maintaining standards during this period.

“Every game is massive and especially if you look at the opponents we’ve got. We all know how important Champions League football is for the club in general, financially as well.”

That message reflects the broader mindset within the squad. There is recognition that consistency will be decisive, particularly with key fixtures approaching.

European demands add pressure to run-in

Liverpool’s domestic push comes alongside a significant Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain. Managing both fronts will test depth and resilience, areas that have been challenged at times this season.

There are emerging positives. Rio Ngumoha has impressed in recent appearances, offering energy and unpredictability in attacking areas. Former midfielder Danny Murphy captured that sentiment.

“99.9% of Liverpool fans want to see him Tuesday night… he can make things happen.”

Liverpool understand that qualification will not be secured by external predictions. Neville’s view provides encouragement, but the outcome will be shaped by performances in the weeks ahead.

Momentum is returning at a critical stage, and with rivals faltering, Liverpool have positioned themselves to take control of their Champions League qualification push.
