The Sinners box office predictions for Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler’s upcoming horror movie are in, and the Easter weekend release is eyeing a big launch.
What are the Sinners box office predictions?
According to Deadline’s recent report on the numbers, Sinners is tracking to open at just over $40 million when it debuts on April 18, 2025. The figures project the film to debut higher than movies like 2024’s Alien: Romulus ($42m), and the recently released Bong Joon Ho movie Mickey 17.
Deadline’s report notes that some tracking models have the film in the low $30m area instead, but since the official marketing push for the movie isn’t set to begin until the beginning of April, it’s likely to climb.
Along with Jordan, the cast of Sinners includes Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), Jack O’Connell (Ferrari, Back to Black), Wunmi Mosaku (Lovecraft Country, Loki), Jayme Lawson (The Penguin, The Woman King), Omar Benson Miller (CSI: Miami, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and Delroy Lindo (Da 5 Bloods, The Harder They Fall).
Coogler produces the movie alongside Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler. Ludwig Göransson, Will Greenfield, and Rebecca Cho serve as executive producers.
Coogler made his feature film directorial debut in 2013 with Fruitvale Station. He followed that up with Creed in 2015 before heading to the MCU to make Black Panther in 2018. Jordan starred in all three of those movies. In 2022, Coogler then made the sequel to Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which featured Jordan in a small cameo role. He has also produced projects such as 2021’s Judas and the Black Messiah, 2021’s Space Jam: A New Legacy, and 2023’s Creed III.
This will be Jordan’s first film since Creed III, which he also directed. He has also starred in movies such as 2012’s Chronicle, 2015’s Fantastic Four, 2019’s Just Mercy, and 2021’s A Journal for Jordan.
