Royal Mail delivery delays hit UK postcodes including 7 in Cardiff — full list

Royal Mail has warned 18 delivery offices are experiencing delays affecting 44 UK postcodes including Cardiff

Royal Mail has issued a warning to residents in specific Cardiff postcodes that their mail will face delays. The postal service typically delivers letters and parcels six days per week.

Nevertheless, it has confirmed disruptions across its network affecting particular regions. Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.

“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.

“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”, reports the Mirror.

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”

The company provides daily updates to customers regarding problems that might hold up post. As of Tuesday, February 24, 18 Royal Mail sorting offices are experiencing disruption.

These are distributed throughout the UK, including Cardiff, Pontefract, Lochgelly and Lisburn.

Disruption at the sorting offices means 44 UK postcodes are presently facing delayed mail.

Whilst its air network has operated on schedule over the past 24 hours, the road network encountered some difficulties. Royal Mail explained: “Last night a vehicle was late departing the Midlands Parcel Hub for Preston and Glasgow Mail Centres.

“As a result, some mail due for delivery in the BB, FY, LA, PR, G, KA, ML and PA postcode areas may be arrive later than planned.”

Bristol Mail Centre experienced disruption affecting correspondence posted in sections of the BA, BS, GL and TA postcode areas, destined for delivery throughout other regions of the UK.
