According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy international Chiesa is ready to cut his €6m-a-year Liverpool salary to return to Juventus in the January transfer window.

Gazzetta highlights that Chiesa’s decision further highlights his desire to return to Turin, while Tuttosport reported last week that the ex-Bianconeri star had already contacted some of his ex-teammates at the Allianz Stadium.

With Chiesa very much open to a comeback barely 18 months after leaving Juventus, now the ball is in the clubs’ court as Bianconeri and Liverpool must find an agreement over transfer fee and package.

Multiple sources claim that Liverpool only want to sell Chiesa on a permanent transfer, while the Bianconeri would rather welcome the 28-year-old back on an initial loan deal with a performance-related obligation to buy.

Chiesa has only collected 529 minutes on the pitch this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in 21 appearances.
