Real Madrid star taken to hospital in a wheelchair after ‘hard punch’ from teammate

The alarming situation at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Thursday taken another considerable turn for the worse.

This comes amid confirmation that two of the club’s midfield stars came to blows at Valdebebas earlier today.

The pair in question? Federico Valverde, and Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Valverde and Tchouaméni were at the heart of an ugly scene in Spain’s capital on Wednesday, when the pair needed to be separated by teammates following a heated exchange of words.

And a day on, the situation escalated once more…

As per a report from Diario AS, the friction was reignited upon Valverde refusing to shake Tchouaméni’s hand in the dressing room.

From here, both players were responsible for heavy tackles on one another on the training pitch.

After the session, as Álvaro Arbeloa’s squad headed back to the dressing room, Valverde is understood to have repeatedly accused his French teammate of leaking information regarding their argument on Wednesday to the media.

Tchouaméni repeatedly denied as much, with other Blancos stars having also urged Valverde to cease his incessant accusations.

But Tchouaméni eventually snapped, dropping the Uruguayan with what has been described as a ‘hard punch’.

This caused Valverde to fall to the ground, hitting his head, and opening a considerable gash which later required stitches.

The all-action midfielder, who was in and out of consciousness at the time, was loaded into a wheelchair, before being taken directly to hospital for tests and treatment.

Serious disciplinary measures are now expected to be opened against both players by Real Madrid.
