A no-nonsense action franchise built on brutal fight scenes and an unlikely hero is gearing up for its Netflix streaming debut. The hard-hitting sequel, which expands the violent world introduced in the first film, brings back familiar faces while raising the stakes with bigger set pieces and new enemies.

Nobody 2 begins streaming on Netflix in March

Thanks to Netflix’s revamped first-window deal with Universal Pictures, Nobody 2 is expected to head to the streamer on March 14, 2026, not long after wrapping up its time in theaters and on Peacock (via What’s on Netflix). The agreement, which kicked in a year earlier than originally expected, makes Netflix the main landing spot for Universal’s live-action films beginning in January 2026.

When Nobody was first announced, it drew attention mainly because it marked Bob Odenkirk’s shift into the action genre, a space he hadn’t previously explored. The film was released without the backing of a major franchise and arrived during a period when theatrical attendance was still recovering post-pandemic.

Despite modest pre-release expectations and a relatively low-key marketing campaign, Nobody performed steadily at the box office and went on to earn positive responses from both critics and audiences.

The sequel picks up with Bob Odenkirk back as Hutch Mansell, continuing the story that caught many viewers off guard in 2021. The original Nobody won people over with its stripped-down, no-frills approach to action and went on to score a solid 76% with critics on Rotten Tomatoes, earning sleeper-hit status. The follow-up leans further into that gritty tone while expanding the scope.

Behind the scenes, Nobody 2 hands the director’s chair to Timo Tjahjanto, a filmmaker known for delivering slick, brutal action with style as seen in movies like The Night Comes for Us. The screenplay comes from Derek Kolstad, the mind behind John Wick, delivering the same-scale action expected from the billion-dollar franchise. Universal Pictures returns as the lead studio, joined once again by Eighty Two Films, 87 NorthEntertainment, and Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment.

On screen, Bob Odenkirk is back as Hutch Mansell, with Connie Nielsen returning as his wife, Becca. The sequel also ups the danger with some high-profile additions, including Sharon Stone stepping in as a menacing villain.
