Makhana is a healthier option to processed food because it is high in protein, low in calories, and great for kidney and heart health. Additionally, it helps Bihar’s farmers make a living.It provides for a healthier munching experience and is a super source of calcium.
Millets
Did you know? The year 2023 was proclaimed as the International Year of Millets, supported by Prime Minister Modi at the G20 and international health forums. But what are millets? Millets are cereal crops whose origin dates back to 4000 years. They are grown all over the nation- its variants of ragi, jowar, and bajra as “Shree Anna – Mother of all Grains” because they are nutrient-dense, drought-resistant, and help fight lifestyle diseases like diabetes.
Khichdi
Khichdi is a super-meal in India, often eaten during sickness. It is known to aid quick recovery and fulfil the nutrient needs of a person whose immunity has been tainted. A balanced profile of carbohydrates, proteins, and fiber is provided by the combination of rice, lentils, and spices in khichdi, a hearty comfort food.
