Popular actress Pankhuri Awasthy Rode shares her skincare routine for glowing and beautiful skin

As an actress, maintaining healthy and glowing skin is an extremely important aspect in my profession.. While people think it is mostly about external health, I strongly believe that inner well-being is more important than only trying to look good from the outside on the screen. Being a part of the show business over the years, I have come to understand the importance of self care and how beauty grows from within. This journey included learning and applying a couple of easy but very effective tips that helped me achieve and maintain healthy looking skin. I am really excited to share such tips with you today.

Embracing a healthy lifestyle
Great skin is not merely a result of good skin care products as it calls for a healthy way of living. Regular exercise, a well-balanced diet, and sufficient sleep, all of these contribute to the attainment of beautiful skin. I ensure that I regularly do some physical activities like yoga, cardio and pilates. The exercises not only help to keep my body fit, but they help in alleviating stress as well. Furthermore, I concentrate on eating a lot of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein in order to support my skin health from the inside out. My morning begins with a handful of almonds, this is one habit that I have had since I was young. Almonds are good for maintaining good skin, because they have healthy fats and vitamin E in them, both of which are good for the skin. I believe all people should incorporate almond consumption into their diet as a part of their beauty regimen and make it a daily practice. The best thing is, almonds are extremely versatile as they can be consumed anywhere, no matter if you are home, at work, or on the go. The best part about almonds is that they can be eaten even when roasted or flavoured! I personally prefer rasam spiked almonds.
Natural skincare regimen
Over the years, I’ve recognized the importance of well-being. I switched from chemical-packed skin products to safer and organic options. I clean my face twice a day using a gentle non-foaming cleanser and then immediately apply a rich moisturizer thereafter. I always apply sunscreen when stepping out of my home to protect my skin from the harsh UV rays. For this, I resort to natural foods. Consumption of a handful of almonds in your daily dietary routine along with other natural food options such as seasonal fruits and vegetables can help boost your skin’s resistance to UV rays naturally. Almonds are also rich in Vitamin E which is good for our skin health. Furthermore, while I do have to wear makeup most of the time for work, I love being without it as often as I can. Hence, I try to limit the use of cosmetics and allow my skin to breathe and be healthy.

The power of Ayurveda
I believe in Ayurvedic practices, instilled in me by my mother. The age old Indian medicinal practice of Ayurveda has managed to change my perception of skincare. Whenever I am at home and have some downtime, I use Ayurvedic herbs and ingredients to make my own face masks and treatment. Natural foods such as turmeric, neem, aloe vera have also helped a great deal in cooling and healing my skin in a natural way.

Self-care and self-love
Last but not least, I cannot reiterate enough the significance of taking care and loving oneself. Moreover, focusing on relaxation and indulging in activities such as meditation that make me happy aids in creating a more positive attitude that eventually shows on my skin.
Do keep in mind that having healthy and beautiful skin is not about quick fixes, it’s about making little sustainable adjustments in your everyday life and skincare regimens. Accept your differences and be yourself, for all the beauty comes from within!
