  • The ‘Brotherly Shove’ that the Eagles have almost perfected has given it to Hurts

After Jalen Hurts was the main beneficiary of a Christmas Day edition of the ‘Brotherly Shove,’ the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback claimed a single-season all-time record.

Hurts broke Cam Newton’s quarterback single-season record for rushing touchdowns with his 15th score on the ground of the year.

Newton set the old record of 14 touchdowns during his rookie season with the Carolina Panthers in 2011.

Hurts has been known for his dual-threat ability for his entire career, even with the ‘Brotherly Shove’ doing most of the work to get him this record.

The Eagles still have two games remaining this season, giving Hurts a chance to distance himself from any other quarterback in history.

Already in his fourth season in the NFL, Hurts is rising up the all-time quarterback leaderboard for rushing touchdowns.

Hurts is already fourth on that list trailing Newton’s 75, Josh Allen’s 51 career rushing touchdowns, and Steve Young’s 43.

Hurts stands at 41 career rushing touchdowns after his score against the New York Giants on Monday.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said he wants the ‘Brotherly Shove’ banned from the league earlier this month. And the rugby-style play is expected to face a turbulent offseason.

The Eagles return to action on Sunday with a home game against the Arizona Cardinals.
