Penny Lane Coffeehouse to provide free coffee with sandwich purchase to CenterPoint customers

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – An Evansville coffeehouse is providing free coffee to any customer that mentions how they feel about CenterPoint on Monday.

According to a Penny Lane Coffeehouse Facebook post, anyone who mentions CenterPoint gets a free latte or coffee with any sandwich purchase.

The coffeehouse is responding to a statement in which CenterPoint recently compared the distribution charges to a latte. They say coffee beans do fluctuate but they’ve never raised their prices when that happens.

They say they would like to not require a sandwich purchase, but their $2,000 plus CenterPoint bill requires them to.

As we’ve reported, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission unanimously approved a CenterPoint rate increase.

Penny Lane Coffeehouse officials say the saddest part is that they may have to increase prices eventually because of their utilities, not their beans or other factors.

They say they love their customers, and they eat the cost every time, like their most recent bean increase.

The coffeehouse urges the public not to take their frustrations out on the employees who work for CenterPoint since the increase is not their fault.

They say all are welcome to come get a free coffee and latte and their doors are open to everyone.

China, at least to some extent, helped to halt the conflict. But paradoxically, Beijing is not
