One of Taylor Sheridan’s most popular TV shows has been renewed for a third season, bringing back another big Paramount+ series.
Which Paramount+ show was renewed for a Season 3?
Landman, the popular series starring Billy Bob Thornton, is coming back for Season 3. The series was renewed for another season, according to an announcement by Paramount+, just a few episodes into its currently running second season.
The show has been a major success ever since its premiere, with the first season racking up 15.8 million viewers on average, according to a report from THR. The second season is currently airing, and once again looks to be a major hit. Its premiere was the biggest season or series premiere in Paramount+ history.
Originally released in 2024, Landman is inspired by the popular Boomtown podcast series, and was created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the latter of whom acts as showrunner. The series is set in the world of oilfields in West Texas, and follows Tommy Norris (Thornton), a petroleum landman and operations VP at an oil company.
Alongside Thornton, the ensemble cast of Landman includes Ali Larter, Demi Moore, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, and Paulina Chávez, with Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, and Michael Peña as guest stars. The series was executive produced by David Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, Stephen Kay, Dan Friedkin, Jason Hoch, J.K. Nickell, Megan Creydt, and Peter Feldman. It is a production by MTV Entertainment Studios.
