Owen Wilson’s Acclaimed Apple TV Comedy Casts SNL Alum for Season 2

Season 2 of Apple TV’s beloved golf comedy starring Owen Wilson is shaping up to be a star-studded affair, having recently added an SNL alum to its cast. The show’s debut season premiered in June 2025 and has since garnered a positive reception, building anticipation for its second installment.

SNL’s John Higgins joins Owen Wilson-led Stick Season 2 cast

John Higgins, best known as one-third of the popular SNL comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy, has landed a recurring role in the upcoming Season 2 of Stick. He joins the returning ensemble led by Owen Wilson, who stars in and executive produces the series.

Stick is a heartfelt, feel-good sports comedy exploring the world of golf through the lens of a found family. The series premiered to critical acclaim for its unique tone and character-driven storytelling. In Season 1, Wilson played Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill former golf pro. His life takes an unexpected turn when he mentors a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi, played by Peter Dager.

Higgins will join a returning cast that is already packed with talent. Alongside Wilson and Dager, Stick Season 2 will see the return of Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Timothy Olyphant, and Judy Greer. The new season has also recently announced the addition of guest star Billy Zane, promising even more entertainment.

For Higgins, this is another big project following his success on Saturday Night Live. He was a writer and performer for Please Don’t Destroy. Also co-wrote and executive-produced the Universal feature film Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain in 2023. He recently wrapped production on the upcoming Netflix film Bad Day, directed by Jake Szymanski and starring Cameron Diaz.

Hailing from Apple Studios, Stick was created by Jason Keller. He also executive produces alongside Wilson and Ben Silverman for Propagate Content, as well as Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady.
