Montego Bay is Jamaica’s second city and one of its biggest tourist destinations. It’s home to the famous Doctor’s Cave Beach, which one osteopath in the 1920s claimed has healing powers and the buzzing Hip Strip, a hub packed with bars, restaurants and shops. It’s also a stone’s throw from the gorgeously serene Martha Brae River and not too far from the mesmerising Ocho Rios Blue Hole, one of Time Out’s most beautiful places in the world.
In other words, whether you want to spend your holiday being lazy on the sand, going all-in on culture or exploring natural wonders, MoBay has you covered. And this summer, there will be far more flights from London to the Jamaican city to choose from. Virgin Atlantic is boosting the number of its daily services from Heathrow Airport to Montego Bay this summer from June.
At the moment, there are just four flights per week between the two airports. Between June 1 and October 24, there will be a flight from Heathrow to Montego Bay every day of the week. Across that whole period, that means there’ll be 15,480 more seats available.
If all-inclusives are your thing, some of our favourite places to book on Montego Bay include the Breathless resort and the Royalton Blue Waters resort. The former gives you a combination of VIP partying, relaxing spa sessions and swoon-worthy suites, while the latter is an ideal family stay, with a lazy river, a pirate-themed water park and eight different restaurants to try.
