A historic home in Oldham County was damaged in a March 16 structure fire, according to a news release from the South Oldham Fire Department.
Fire crews responded to a “significant” fire at the Bradshaw-Duncan House in the 8500 block of Todds Point Road in Crestwood at around 9:46 p.m. March 16, spokesperson Kevin Parker said. When crews arrived, they found “heavy fire” at the scene.

“Strong winds, balloon construction, aged timber, and multiple void spaces in the building all contributed to very challenging conditions for fire crews fighting the fire,” Parker said.
The Bradshaw-Duncan House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The structure was originally built in the early 19th century and was later added to between 1855 and 1860.
The National Park Service registration form details that the house was eligible for the National Register of Historic Places for “conveying the Italianate style of architecture within the context ‘Italianate Style in Oldham County, Kentucky 1850-1875.’”
