This year’s MWC seems to be quite eventful for ZTE as the company announced a handful of new products – two budget-oriented gaming smartphones called nubia Neo 3 and Neo 3 GT, launched its nubia Flip2 clamshell foldable globally, added two camera-centric smartphones to its portfolio nubia Focus 2 and Focus 2 Ultra and showcased its Red Magic Pad 3D Explorer Edition tablet.
Although the new nubia Neo 3 and 3 GT devices are expected to be very affordable, they offer touch-sensitive shoulder triggers and large displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Neo 3 runs on a Unisoc T8300 chipset and a 6.8-inch 120Hz display. Depending on the market, the handset is powered by a 5,200 or 6,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
The Neo 3 GT upgrades the chipset to Unisoc T9100 and pairs the SoC with a 4,082 mm2 vapor chamber for extra cooling. The display is once again 6.8″, 120Hz, but it’s OLED this time around. The battery capacity is 5,000 or 6,000 mAh, depending on the region.
The nubia Focus 2 gets a potent 108MP main camera and a 6.7-inch display. Some additional AI enhancements for the camera, like AI Sport Snapshot, ensure better rendition. Meanwhile, the nubia Focus 2 Ultra takes things up a notch with a bigger 1/1.55″ sensor and a large f/1.47 aperture. The display is 6.8″ OLED with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging. It also has a rotating bezel around the camera bump on the back that can be used for zooming in and out.
And as for the nubia Flip2, the company already announced it in mid-January with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X SoC and 6.9-inch, 120Hz foldable OLED. The handset will be one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest, foldable handset you can find in markets outside China. The Flip2 will start at €699 for the base 8GB/128GB.
Last but not least, nubia outed a gaming tablet under the Red Magic branding called Red Magic Pad 3D Explorer Edition. The device runs on a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and a 12.1-inch display. A 10,000 mAh battery keeps the lights on.
The name “Pad 3D” comes from the tablet’s 3D display that requires no glasses to operate. It can also leverage AI to transform 2D objects into 3D for both photos and videos. Previously we’ve seen the device as the nubia Pad 3D II.
