The Leisure & Cultural Services Department will present its Performing Arts Carnival 2023 on various dates from October to December at Tuen Mun Town Hall, Sha Tin Town Hall, Tsuen Wan Town Hall, Yuen Long Theatre and Kwai Tsing Theatre.
Under the initiative, the Academy for Performing Arts (APA), venue partners, local arts groups and district organisations will showcase a series of free arts performances.
The first two carnivals will be staged from 2pm to 5pm on October 15 and 22 at Tuen Mun Town Hall and Sha Tin Town Hall respectively.
The carnivals will cover dance, drama, music and Chinese opera. APA students will offer dance performances, an original musical, a percussion performance, a wind and brass ensemble concert and a Chinese opera performance.
Fringe activities will also be held around each of the carnivals, including Cantonese opera performances, dance performances, an interactive theatre experience and workshops.
Admission to all programmes is free on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets for the fringe activities will be available at the enquiry counters of the respective venues on carnival days from noon while stocks last.
