Parents can now access the latest profiles of kindergartens and childcare centres online, the Education Bureau announced today.
The profiles were released to provide data on about 1,010 kindergartens and childcare centres including their approved school fees for the 2023-24 school year and the list of kindergartens that have joined the kindergarten education scheme.
For kindergartens under the scheme, the profile will show their approved school fees after the deduction of government subsidies.
The number and overall professional qualifications of the principal and teaching staff, enrolment, teacher-to-pupil ratio, curriculum, reference prices of major school items, application and registration fees and information on application for admission are also included in the profiles.
In addition, the profiles contain columns which detail the support given to non-Chinese speaking students and students with special needs.
From October 31, parents can pick up printed copies of the profiles in Chinese and English.
They will be available at the bureau’s Regional Education Offices, Home Affairs Enquiry Centres, Department of Health Maternal & Child Health Centres, Social Welfare Department Integrated Family Service Centres, public libraries and Support Service Centres for Ethnic Minorities funded by the Home Affairs Department.
Users can also download the profiles from a mobile app.
