15th November 2024 – (Shenzhen) The Chinese National Immigration Administration announced today that two ports in south China’s Guangdong Province will pilot express border inspection channels for eligible travellers between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao, starting from 20th November. This major upgrade aims to facilitate smoother travel between these regions.
Designated immigration channels at Shenzhen Bay Port and Gongbei Port in Zhuhai will trial a “no-ID” passage for individuals who frequently travel for personal reasons. This initiative is designed to improve efficiency at border crossings, allowing regular travellers to bypass the traditional requirement of presenting identification documents.
