NBA All-Star Weekend: Watch for free on Sky Sports’ YouTube as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Luka Doncic all in action | NBA News

Sky Sports, YouTube and the NBA are partnering to exclusively host Chewkz’s watchalong of the NBA All-Star game on the Sky Sports YouTube channel at 10pm on Sunday, February 15.

LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Luka Doncic, and Victor Wembanyama are just four of the glamorous names headlining this year’s event – which includes the dunk contest, the three-point contest, and the celebrity and rising stars games to boot.

But this year’s headline event – the All-Star game itself – brings an all-new round robin format, featuring three separate teams competing against each other, with one made up entirely of foreign stars and two American squads.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the NBA’s biggest weekend:

What is the new All-Star game format?

Victor Wembanyama scored 37 of his 40 points in the first half as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Los Angeles Lakers.

The All-Star game is boasting a new and improved format, featuring teams divided by age and nation, and a mini round robin stage before a final between the top two performing teams.

Until last year, the NBA had operated using a fantasy draft format – where two players with the most votes would select a team comprised of players from their conference – before a round robin system was introduced in 2025.

This year, the All-Star game is based on a Team USA vs Team World concept. Team World – comprised only of foreign-born players – will face Team Stars and Team Stripes, two teams of American-born players.

The two American teams are split by age – Team Stars features younger talents like Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker, and Tyrece Maxey, while Team Stripes represents an established generation of All-Stars including LeBron, Durant and Kawhi Leonard.

Each team will play each other team in three 12-minute games, before the two top teams face off in a 12-minute final.

Is this LeBron’s last All-Star weekend?

LeBron James combines with Rui Hachimura for the game-winner as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Toronto Raptors in the superstar’s 23rd NBA season.

Much of the talk surrounding the weekend has been over the future of LeBron, as the 41-year old plays in a record-breaking 22nd consecutive All-Star game.

LeBron recently appeared to be emotional during a pre-game tribute video in what could have been his last game in his hometown Cleveland – where he spent 11 years of his illustrious NBA career.

“I’m just trying to take everything in, not take the moments for granted,” LeBron said of Cleveland’s tribute. “Because it could be [my last season]. I obviously haven’t made a decision on the future, but it very well could be.”

LeBron holds the record for most All-Star game inclusions, selected in 22 of his 23 seasons in the NBA, surpassing Hall-of-Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 19, but was originally selected as a reserve for this year’s contest before the new format was announced.

Dallas Mavericks’ Cooper Flagg broke a 46-year NBA record after becoming the first teenager to score 49 points in an NBA game against the Charlotte Hornets.

The NBA All-Star game on Sunday night headlines the weekend – but there are five other events live on Sky Sports throughout the weekend.

The All-Star weekend kicks off with the Rising Stars game on Friday, with its own round robin featuring a draft selected by honorary coaches and NBA legends Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady and Austin Rivers.

The four teams are made up of players in their first and second years in the NBA – headlined by Mavericks No 1 pick Cooper Flagg – bar Rivers’ team, which is made up entirely of players from the G-League.

Friday’s action finishes with the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) classic, which will see Hampton University take on North Carolina AT&T.

Saturday features the Shooting Stars contest, the three-point contest and the dunk contest. Damian Lillard is looking to take his third three-point crown in four years, while Jaxson Hayes headlines a dunk contest which will have a new winner after Mac McClung won the last three contests in a row.
