A new update from HBO’s CEO has shed some light on the possibility of a third season of Nathan Fielder’s The Rehearsal getting a third season.
What’s the latest update on The Rehearsal Season 3?
Speaking to Deadline in a recent interview, Casey Bloys was asked about the possibility of The Rehearsal getting a new season. Bloys had previously said a lot of that was on Fielder, and he revealed the parties had talked since then.
“Yes. He’s talking to [HBO head of comedy] Amy Gravitt about ideas,” said Bloys. “I think he has a kernel of an idea that he seems to be excited by, but he and Amy are talking. So again, when he’s ready, he will come to us.
The Rehearsal is a docu-comedy television series created, writte, and directed by Nathan Fielder. Each season chronicles Fielder, as a fictionalized version of himself, helping people through issues via rehearsing difficult conversations or events.
“The Rehearsal follows one man’s journey to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life,” reads the series’ official synopsis. “With a construction crew, a legion of actors, and seemingly unlimited resources, Fielder helps ordinary people prepare for life’s biggest moments by ‘rehearsing’ them in carefully crafted simulations of his own design.”
These gradually grow larger, with the first season seeing Fielder recreating entire buildings in an effort to rehearse. The second season largely focused on airline travel, with Fielder actually obtaining a commercial pilot’s license and piloting a real plane.
