Reports in Italy claim that Napoli are interested in pursuing a deal with Atalanta for Nigeria international and reigning African Player of the Year Ademola Lookman, who could be allowed to leave his current club if an appropriate offer comes in this summer.
Reports Napoli targeting Lookman deal with Atalanta
Napoli got their summer transfer window underway with the arrival of Kevin De Bruyne on a free signing earlier this week, following the Belgian’s 10-year stay with Manchester City, which brought six Premier League titles and the club’s first ever Champions League.
The Partenopei are set to have a busy transfer window as they look to build upon Antonio Conte’s Scudetto-winning squad, and prepare the team for a return to the Champions League in 2025-26.
Several attackers, including Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Bologna’s Dan Ndoye have been linked with a move to the Stadio Maradona this summer, but La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Napoli are particularly keen on a deal with Atalanta for Lookman.

Lookman would effectively be the long-term replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who left Napoli to join Paris Saint-Germain midway through the 2024-25 campaign.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Napoli are prepared to offer somewhere in the region of €50m for a new, marquee attacker this summer, while Atalanta are holding out for offers in excess of €60m for Lookman this summer.
The player has already expressed a desire to leave Atalanta this summer, and the club are increasingly likely to sanction his departure, according to Saturday’s reports.
