MWC 2025 saw announcements from Samsung, Nothing and others, Week 10 in review

Tech’s biggest show of the year, the Mobile World Congress took place this week, though the stories started at the eve of last week – we’re still counting them as MWC-related ones, though.

There were a lot of announcements from Infinix, Nothing, nubia, Samsung, Tecno, Xiaomi, and even Apple took advantage of the tech-focused atmosphere to unveil a few products.

Here are the stories that captured the lion’s share of your attention. Starting with Infinix’s Note 50 series. Infinix launched the Note 50 and Note 50 Pro in Indonesia with the biggest upgrade over their predecessors being bigger 5,200mAh batteries. Both phones also have faster 144Hz display panels and upgraded camera systems. Infinix Note 50 comes in Green, Red, Gray, and Gold colors. The starting price in Indonesia for an 8/256 GB version is IDR 2,699,000 ($165). Note 50 Pro has more notable Purple, Gold, Gray, and Silver colors, and the base option of 8/256 GB starts from IDR 2,999,000 ($182).

Nothing launched the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro with nearly identical specs, but different designs. Both feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and 6.77-inch OLED screens. Both also have 5,000mAh batteries with up to 50W charging. The Phone (3a) packs a 50MP main camera, 50MP 50mm 2x zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide, with a 32MP selfie upfront. The Pro adds a longer 70mm zoom with a larger 50MP sensor, and a 50MP selfie shooter upfront.

The Phone (3a) starts from £329 / €329 / INR 24,999 for an 8/128GB model and £379 / $379 / €379 for the 12/256GB unit. The Pro’s 12/256GB is £449 / $459 / €459 / INR 33,999 for the 12/256GB, while India is getting 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB, asking INR 29,999 and 31,999, respectively.

ZTE’s nubia launched the Neo 3 and Neo 3 GT. They’re affordable gaming phones with shoulder triggers and 120Hz displays. The Neo 3 runs a Unisoc T8300 chip and either a 5,200mAh or 6,000mAh (market dependent). The Neo 3 GT adds a Unisoc T9100 with a 4,082 mm2 vapor chamber for extra cooling, and either a 5,000mAh or 6,000mAh battery.
