Successfully issued a mutli-million US$ debt for a listed company just before the European crises in 2015 in a short period of time and without the usual roadshow meetings with potential investors.
Effectively merging the warehousing, transportation, order creation, production planning and demand fulfillment operations under a newly-created Logistics Department for each of 10 bottling plants within a franchised bottling business in 1997, which resulted in significant reductions in the cost of fulfillment.
Worked as the field-in charge to help a PRC co-op JV enterprise to vaildate its accounting records in compliance with the HK Stock Exchange requirements. This company successfully achieved a HK Stock Exchange listing in 1993. It nearly became the first ever PRC enterprise to achieve this.

Overview:  Through my career, I have amassed experience in corporate finance and administration, strategic planning, business development, analysis and planning, supply chain management, auditing and general management. Having got my professional qualification in chartered accountancy in the UK in the eighties, I then returned to Hong Kong to work for companies which started to expand their business operations in mainland China. I have actively witnessed the rapid growth of China and its amazing evolution as one of the major economic powers in the world in the last thirty years.

Past experiences:-

  1. Corporate finance: CFO of a listed company and head of finance of a significant bottling franchise in mainland China. Principal duties covered strategic planning and decision-making, overall financial management, business analysis and financial planning, capital allocation, risk management and governance, investor relations and treasury management,
  2. General management: Provide overall leadership in business ventures involving property development and their commercial operations after completion.
  3. Business planning and development: Devising long term strategic business plans, and analysing and expanding business operations toward sustained growth. Monitoring revenue streams and identifying opportunities to increase profitability. Helped evaluating and improving sales, marketing and branding strategies, and identifying and developing new lines of business based on consumer behaviour and market studies.
  4. Business operations: Building up and strengthened the sales and distribution system and infrastructure in franchised bottling franchises, ensuring overall supply chain efficiency and profitability, and building ERP capabilities in order to support rapid business growth. Established a central procurement function to enhance supplier management and control procurement costs strategically and effectively.
  5. Team development: Implemented a structured training architecture and foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing and healthy mentoring, and encourage professional development within the organization.
  6. IT system capabilities: Implemented external ERP systems like SAP, JDE-Edwards and self-developed systems to enhance data-centric management in business areas such as property sales and management, order tracking, demand and operation planning, cold drink equipment asset management, market execution performance management etc
  7. Auditing: Approximately 10 years of external audit experience covering normal company audits and special works in fraud investigation, business acquisitions and disposals, and company listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Enjoyed writing management letters to clients to advise them how to rectify those significant internal control weaknesses identified during the audits.
