MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An armed Memphis man was arrested at Collierville High School following a traffic crash in the parking lot of the school’s campus Tuesday, according to the Collierville Police Department (CPD).
Darien Williams, 18, is charged with possession of a weapon on school property and possession of a controlled substance.

CPD says that after an investigation was conducted, officers discovered that Williams was an occupant of one of the vehicles involved in the accident and had a handgun and a vape containing THC on him.

Williams was immediately taken into custody.
CPD believes it does not appear that Williams was on the school grounds to cause harm, and said he was waiting for his friend to be dismissed from school.
