Listen to an Exclusive Track From The Day of the Jackal Soundtrack by Volker Bertelmann

ComingSoon is excited to debut the track “Pinwheel” from The Day of the Jackal—Original Series Soundtrack by Volker Bertelmann. Lakeshore Records will release the Dear Santa soundtrack digitally on December 13, 2024. The album is available to pre-save now.

Bertellman is an internationally-acclaimed pianist, composer, and experimental musician. He won an Academy Award in 2023 for his work on the score of All Quiet on the Western Front. His latest work comes on director Edward Berger’s Conclave, and he has also worked on other projects like Patrick Melrose, The Old Guard, Stowaway, Life After Life, and Black Mirror.

The Day of the Jackal stars Eddie Redmayne as The Jackal, an assassin known around the world, and Lashana Lynch, an MI6 agent who begins investigating him. Along with Redmayne and Lynch, the series stars Úrsula Corberó, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi, and Florisa Kamara.

“An unrivaled and highly elusive lone assassin, the Jackal, (Eddie Redmayne) makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee,” the official synopsis reads. “But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.”

Ronan Bennett wrote the series and serves as an executive producer alongside Brian Kirk (who also serves as director), Redmayne, Carnival Films’ Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant, Sky Sutdios’ Sam Hoyle, and Sue Naegle. Lynch serves as a co-executive producer, while Chris Hall serves as a producer and Frederick Forsyth as a consulting producer.
