Lauren Sánchez Bezos Has Surprising Thoughts About One Of Her Most Inappropriate Outfits

Lauren Sánchez Bezos is best known for her marriage to Amazon founder, and controversial billionaire, Jeff Bezos. However, she is also well known for her many style fails. The former news anchor often receives criticism for her risqué outfits that toe the line of sultry and inappropriate, like the super-short dress Lauren Sánchez Bezos wore to a D.C. awards dinner in 2023. Given her husband’s status as one of the country’s wealthiest and most influential men, Sánchez Bezos often makes appearances by his side at important political events in Washington, D.C. — many of which see her breaking the unspoken dress code. One of Sánchez Bezos’ most infamous fashion blunders was her inappropriate Inauguration Day outfit

Lauren Sánchez Bezos wore a white Alexander McQueen pantsuit, showing off her lace bra underneath. Even though she had already worn the outfit a few months prior at the Forbes Power Women’s Summit in September 2024, many were shocked that she chose to wear it to a presidential inauguration. The inappropriate look garnered harsh criticism, with political commentator Megyn Kelly calling on Sánchez Bezos’ to “have some dignity and some respect for your setting,” on a January 2025 episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show.”

While Sánchez Bezos is regarded as one of the worst-dressed attendees at the Trump inauguration, she didn’t think so. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Sánchez Bezos revealed that she actually thought her inauguration look was conservative and was “super proud” of herself for putting together what she considered to be a low-key look. “I get it,” she told the outlet. “No lace at the White House. Noted.”

This isn’t the first time Lauren Sánchez Bezos has defended her controversial style

Lauren Sánchez Bezos catches a lot of heat for her risky fashion choices, including the lacy outfits she’s worn to White House events on multiple occasions. While Sánchez Bezos has worn several modest outfits that still showed off her figure, the former journalist also loves to flaunt her body in more eye-catching looks. Sánchez Bezos recently defended herself against critics by explaining that she can’t exactly hide her curves no matter what she wears. “It’s the shape of my body,” she told The New York Times. “Is someone going to give me a gunnysack and ask me to put a belt on it and cinch it? I’m Latin. I’m Latin. I’m Latin.”

Sánchez Bezos has previously discussed how her unapologetically sexy style is inspired by fellow Latin American women in Hollywood. In a September 2024 interview with Elle, the controversial fashionista said that the pride she has for her heritage shines through in what she wears. “I love fashion, and I love the Latin culture. I dress very Latin. Think of Sofía Vergara. Think of Salma Hayek,” she said. “I really just kind of remain committed to expressing my true, authentic self through fashion, and some people really love it, and some people really hate it, and that’s okay.”

Early in her career, when auditioning for a spot on “The View,” Lauren Sánchez Bezos received style advice from trailblazing journalist Barbara Walters. Walters told the then-aspiring journalist not to change how she looked for any job — or any critic. It seems she’s taken that advice to heart, as Sánchez Bezos continues to rock her signature sexy outfits well into her 50s.
