Keith David has responded to inquiries about his voice being in the Spider-Man 4 trailer.
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is being released in United States theaters this summer. Directed by Wonder Man and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie will once again see Tom Holland reprise his MCU role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
What did Keith David say about Spider-Man 4?
Following last week’s release of the Spider-Man 4 trailer, many Marvel fans believed they heard David’s voice providing some of the voice-over narration. David’s casting in the new movie has yet to be announced, meaning it’s been unclear if that really is him and, if it is, who he might be playing in the film.
On Twitter, David finally responded; although, he did so vaguely, and it still remains somewhat unclear if he’s part of the movie, as he simply posted a thinking face emoji to a tweet asking if that was his voice in the trailer.
This seems to be David hinting that he’s in the movie, though fans will seemingly have to keep waiting until Marvel and Sony confirm his casting and announce who he’s playing. Some believe that he might be playing the Jackal, who has been rumored to be in the film, while others think he might be dubbing the voice for Tombstone, who is set to be played by Marvin Jones III.
The synopsis for Spider-Man: Brand New Day reads, “Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.”
Spider-Man 4 arrives on July 31, 2026.
