Prosecutors indicted two Jerusalem brothers in their 20s for security offenses, including contact with Iranian intelligence and transferring sensitive information.
The State Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment against two Jerusalem brothers in their 20s who committed security offenses, including contact with Iranian intelligence elements, the office stated on Monday.
One of the brothers, with assistance from the other, was in contact with Iranian intelligence elements and was transferring various information related to national security, the indictment read.
The two brothers were aware that they were acting under the direction of Iranian intelligence handlers in exchange for financial compensation, the indictment added.
Other offenses the two suspects were indicted for include delivering information to the enemy, both alone and jointly, and delivering information to an enemy that could be used to benefit them against Israel’s national security.
The prosecution requested an extension of their detention until the legal proceedings could be completed.

The indictment did not specify whether the brothers were Jewish or Arab.
Not an isolated incident: Shin Bet notes at least 25 Israelis indicted for spying for Iran in 2025
Last month, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) noted that 25 Israelis, including Jews, were indicted for spying for Iran throughout 2025.
The number of Iranian plots to use Israelis as spies jumped 400% in 2025 compared with 2024, which also had increased 400% compared with 2023 and earlier years, Shin Bet said in its annual report.
Last year, 120 separate Iranian spying incidents were thwarted, the report said.
This included an IDF soldier from the Givati Brigade, who was arrested in September under suspicion of spying for Iran.
They were alleged to have been in contact with Iranian intelligence forces since sometime in July 2025, and to have carried out tasks for them in exchange for financial compensation. These tasks included sending photos and videos of important sites in Israel, including from within army bases, as well as information on weapons and armaments used by the IDF.
Last week, Elimelech Stern was sentenced to three years in prison by the Jerusalem District Court for maintaining contact with an Iranian intelligence operative and conspiring to issue threats.
