iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max battery capacities leak

Apple is launching the iPhone 16 family in September, and today a new rumor from China claims to give us the exact battery capacities for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The former is said to come with a 3,577 mAh cell, which would be over 9% larger than the iPhone 15 Pro‘s 3,274 mAh one. The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s battery is pegged at 4,676 mAh, up more than 5% compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max‘s 4,441 mAh cell.

These aren’t huge increases, of course, but it’s still good to see Apple constantly improving in this regard. Even these small increases in physical capacity, when combined with possible improvements in chipset and display panel efficiency, might lead to improved longevity on the upcoming iPhone models.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are both rumored to arrive with support for 40W wired and 20W MagSafe wireless charging. That would be an increase from 27W and 15W, respectively, on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, and this might be a nice quality-of-life improvement for owners of the upcoming devices too.
