Online influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate, who both face rape and human‑trafficking charges in Romania and the United Kingdom, were reported to have entered Hong Kong over the weekend, sparking heated discussion online.
Andrew posted a photo of himself and Tristan on a luxury boat in Victoria Harbour on X on Sunday, while other posts showed the brothers visiting the Lan Kwai Fong nightlife district and a crab restaurant in Causeway Bay.
A video he posted a day earlier showed him singing alongside a dozen Asian women as his brother looked on. Multiple clips from Lan Kwai Fong showed people crowding to take photos with two men resembling the Tates.
“Hong Kong has been incredible,” Andrew said. “The energy of the city, the culture, and the people have been amazing, you’ll see on my X that we were warmly welcomed very shortly after arriving. I’m always grateful when people come over to say hello or show support. It’s good to see that not everyone believes everything they see in the media”

But some online users questioned why the city would accommodate them.
