‘I totally transformed the thickness and length of my hair by adding a nutrient powerhouse to my diet’

The quality of hair and skin is equally a direct reflection of biological processes unfolding deeper within the body.

This is why nutrition serves as an excellent solution for those looking to enhance their locks.

A health influencer recently claimed that incorporating beans into her diet had a transformative effect on the quality of her hair.

Audrey Dunn, who goes by @naturalblondi on TikTok, shared her results in a post captioned “eating this one food completely transformed my hair”.

The content creator explained: “Beans are nutrient powerhouses.

“They are packed with a special type of fibre that allows us to detox the hormones and toxins that wreak havoc on our health.

“Eating beans multiple times a day has helped me regrow my hair after losing over 80 per cent of it due to SIBO, mould and hormonal issues.”

Like oysters, beans are abundant in zinc, which is a vital component for supporting the hair cycles.

Beans also contain an array of additional hair-healthy nutrients like iron, biotin and folate, which can make significant health improvements over time.

Soybeans, in particular, have proven beneficial for hair growth because they contain spermidine, which promotes hair growth.

The Dermatology Practical and Conceptual Journal published research in 2017 proving the benefits of spermidine-based products for hair growth.

The Annual Review of Nutrition noted in 2020 that spermidine could also enhance human hair.

Healthline points out, however, that research into the effects of spermidine is still in its infancy.

This means more studies are needed before health experts can make recommendations on the intake of the nutrient.

Regardless of their benefits for hair health, beans and other legumes are widely recommended as part of healthy eating patterns.
