Steven Gerrard claims Chelsea should be worried about Everton

The Blues are currently three points behind fifth placed Liverpool, who’ve played a game more, whilst they are six points behind Villa and Manchester United.

Champions League qualification is said to be critical for Liam Rosenior, and defeat could potentially be the fatal blow in their hopes of a top five finish.

More dropped points and instead of looking up the Blues will be looking behind them, with Everton now just two points adrift.

Speaking after Liverpool’s loss to Wolves, Gerrard claimed the Toffees could put pressure on the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.

“Yeah, really good [season],” he told TNT Sports.

“David Moyes has been brilliant for Everton. They’ve done really well, I’m sure they’re going to sneak into the back door for those European places.

“We know he likes the Conference League. He’s done it before, so I think they are going to put the pressure on the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Brentford.”

Chelsea face the Everton later this month

Everton are quietly having a very good season, with former Chelsea man Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall leading the charge.
