Honor Magic Vs2 debuts with lighter body, updated LTPO OLED displays


Honor announced another foldable device in its Magic V lineup which comes as a successor to last year’s Magic Vs. The new Magic Vs2 brings an updated magnesium alloy frame with a newly-developed Luban titanium hinge which allowed the device to be remarkably thin at just 229 grams. That’s lighter than the Magic V2 (231 grams) and creeping up on the recent crop of flagship bar phones.

Magic Vs2 is also remarkably thin at 10.7mm in its folded state and just 5.1 mm when unfolded. You get a 6.43-inch LTPO OLED cover screen with a 1,060 x 2,376 px resolution, а 1-120Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Honor also claims the cover panel can reach up to 2,500 nits of brightness.

The inner screen measures 7.9 inches and boasts the same LTPO OLED tech and 1-120Hz refresh rate and features a 9.8:9 aspect ratio. Both panels support HDR 10+ and feature 16MP front-facing cameras housed inside punch-hole cutouts. Magic Vs2 also supports stylus input on both the external and internal screens.

Honor went with the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with 12/16GB RAM and 256/512GB storage. The device houses updated cameras with a 50MP main shooter, a 20MP telephoto module with 2.5x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide lens.

The software side is covered by MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13 with several enhancements for the larger screen like split-screen multitasking, opening two instances of the same app side by side and Free hoover mode which splits the two halves of the screen for a laptop-like experience on supported apps. Honor also managed to fit a 5,000 mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging support.

Magic Vs2 is available in Velvet Black, Glacier Blue and Coral Purple colors. Pricing starts at CNY 6,999 ($958) for the 12/256GB model and goes up to CNY 7,699 ($1,054) for the 16/512GB trim. Pre-orders are now live in China from Honor’s official website while open sales will begin on October 17.
