The NBV of its three major divisions—Hong Kong, mainland China, and Malaysia—all achieved double-digit growth. The share repurchase is proceeding steadily, and shareholder returns are expected to increase robustly. The brokerage maintains its ‘Buy’ rating.
CLSA stated that as Hong Kong’s insurance market continues to thrive, leading insurers are outperforming the broader market. AIA and Prudential have resumed a compound growth trajectory in their new business value, and their embedded value is also expected to return to double-digit growth. Capital efficiency is anticipated to improve, benefiting total shareholder returns. The firm raised its target price for Prudential’s H shares from HKD 140 to HKD 145.
