The MTR Corp announced pay increases on Friday ranging from 1.6 to 3.84 per cent for most non-management staff for the 2026-27 financial year, depending on their performance. Last year, the adjustment was between 1.8 and 5.4 per cent.
Employees would also receive a one-off performance-based bonus of between 1.4 and 2.07 months’ pay, the MTR Corp said a day after revealing its 2025 annual results. On Thursday, the public transport operator reported a net profit of more than HK$14.6 billion (US$1.8 billion).
The MTR Corp said the salary rise was derived under its established pay review mechanism after carefully considering the corporation’s performance, the economic environment, market conditions and employees’ contributions.

According to the Federation of Railway Trade Unions, more than half of MTR staff will receive a 3.2 per cent pay rise.
