Kathmandu. In Hong Kong, the benefits of travel insurance for senior citizens and children have been cut.
This was found during a recent survey conducted by the Customer Council. According to the Council, out of the 10 travel insurance schemes for senior citizens and children, nine have been found to have reduced the maximum benefit given as medical expenses and accident compensation.
According to the survey, there is a huge difference in the protection and benefits available to senior citizens and children in the single travel insurance scheme. During the survey, 27 travel insurance issues issued by 11 insurers in Hong Kong were studied. The study was conducted for two months in February and March.
According to the survey report, the profit has been reduced by up to 75 percent in some schemes of travel insurance. “In only three travel insurance schemes, it has been found that senior citizens have been charged high insurance fees to provide full benefits,” the report said, adding that the insurance premium has been increased from 27 percent to 36 percent in these schemes. ’
After the survey, the Council has suggested that senior citizens and children should be aware of the benefits while taking the travel insurance scheme. – Agency
