Hong Kong International Airport on the island of Chek Lap Kok has been named among the World’s Cleanest Airports 2026 in the Major Airport Category, according to air transport rating firm Skytrax. They were placed in the 5th position. Tokyo’s Haneda Airport clinched the top position.
The rankings are based on surveys sent to airport customers between August 2025 and February 2026. The New Chitose Airport, the main international and domestic gateway to Hokkaido, ranked first in the other category for this award, which covers airports with 30 million or fewer passengers per year.

Here’s the list of the world’s top 10 cleanest airports in the ‘Major Airports’ category:
- Tokyo Haneda
- Seoul Incheon
- Singapore Changi
- Tokyo Narita
- Hong Kong
- Taiwan Taoyuan
- Kansai
- Zurich
- Shanghai Hongqiao
- Rome Fiumicino
These are the world’s 10 cleanest airports, which manage up to 30 million passengers per year or less:
- New Chitose
- Centrair Nagoya
- Fukuoka
- Bahrain
- Osaka Itami
- Brisbane
- Cam Ranh
- Helsinki-Vantaa
- Muscat
- Houston Hobby
In addition to being ranked the world’s cleanest, Haneda Airport has consistently ranked among Skytrax’s Best Airports. This year, it secured the third spot on the list, succeeded by Singapore’s Changi Airport and Seoul’s Incheon International Airport.

On December 5, 2025, Haneda Airport was awarded the 5-Star Airport quality rating for the 12th consecutive year by Skytrax.
