PEOPLE’s Jupiter Retrograde Horoscope 2024

Another planetary retrograde is upon us!

Jupiter turns retrograde on Oct. 9 and will last through Feb. 4, 2024, an astrological period that is intense in the cosmos and an astronomical period that is an optical illusion from our perspective on Earth.

While Jupiter doesn’t physically move backwards through space, PEOPLE’s resident astrologer Kyle Thomas explains how its retrograde will energetically affect us depending on our zodiac signs. For this celestial event in particular, Jupiter retrogrades in Gemini.

Whenever a planet is in retrograde, Thomas says “whatever is ruled by the celestial object will be reviewed in our lives.” He adds, “We also tend to experience obstacles, challenges and confusion about what it rules.”

Gemini rules communication, the mind, travel, academics and media. As Jupiter (the planet of luck, wealth and expansion) moves through this zodiac sign, Thomas says “all of the themes of Gemini will be reviewed on a collective level and in our lives.”

During these cycles, Thomas says “we may find that we are reviewing our growth and finding new ways to pursue our goals and aspirations.” It’s important to note that these periods take place once a year for about four months at a time.

Read on for what Jupiter retrograde means for your zodiac sign, according to Kyle Thomas’ predictions!

Aries (March 21 to April 19)

AriesAries

Aries

As a carryover from recent months, Aries, Jupiter will glide through your intellectual zone until next year. Thomas predicts a “much faster pace to life” during this period.

“Important contracts and communication-related projects tend to appear for you,” he puts forth, noting “more social activity” could arise over the next few months, especially with friends or siblings.

It’s crucial to capitalize on these opportunities now, though, because when Jupiter begins to retrograde on Oct. 9, Thomas says the energy around these ideas may “be weakened” until February 2025.

“You may notice that these areas of your life slow down or that you are required to return to past experiences around these themes during that period,” he puts forth. “You’re being encouraged to manifest.”

Taurus (April 20 to May 20)

TaurusTaurus

Taurus

Money matters have been spotlit and you’re ready to build your wealth for many reasons, Taurus. Jupiter has been “grazing your wealth zone,” says Thomas, and will continue to do so until June 9, 2025.

“This is magnificent because it will likely attract a raise, greater streams of income, a new job or lucrative clients,” he predicts, though stresses the importance of “taking action” and “knowing your worth” to reap the universe’s benefits. Don’t sit back and wait for it to come to you!

Work towards these goals now, though, before Jupiter retrograde “slows down” this energy until February 2025. During that time, Thomas says “you’ll be encouraged to internally review in order to better manifest specific themes in your life.”

Gemini (May 21 to June 20)

GeminiGemini

Gemini

Your glorious era has arrived and you’re ready to live life to the fullest, Gemini. Jupiter has been dancing in your zodiac sign since May 25 and will last until June 9, 2025.

“You will be blessed with tremendous luck, fortune, blessings and new beginnings personally and professionally,” predicts Thomas, who says “the key” to harnessing this cosmic flow is to “strike quickly toward your goals” and “be intentional.”

With Jupiter in your zodiac sign, Thomas says “it is one of the most fortunate periods in your life to reach true happiness, find a soulmate and see dreams come true.” Take advantage now before the planetary retrograde on Oct. 9, which will slow this energy and cause you to self-reflect ahead of 2025.

Cancer (June 21 to July 22)

CancerCancer

Cancer

The year ahead may be a bit slower than you’d like, Cancer, but that’s because you’re experiencing a vast period of reflection and development. Thomas says you’re “favored” around healing, mental health, spirituality, creativity, intuition and psychic abilities.

“You could be in the right place at the right time and germinating and building many projects in solitude,” he puts forth, citing a long-term business plan or book-writing endeavor as examples. “You’re culminating the past eleven-year cycle to be reborn anew in June 2025,” he says.

It’s important to jump on these ideas now, though, before the Jupiter retrograde begins on Oct. 9. He says this period may cause certain areas of your life to “be weakened” until February 2025.

Leo (July 23 to Aug. 22)

LeoLeo

Leo

A dazzling year lies ahead of you, Leo, with Jupiter spinning in your sector of fulfillment until June 9, 2025. Thomas predicts this period will bring “luck, fortune, prosperity and fortune” your way, helping you to “reach some of your personal and professional goals.”

“You will likely attract a far more festive social life, spend time with platonic soulmates or new ones, or each reach a heartfelt dream,” he continues. “Asking for favors, networking and embracing your popularity will unlock the path before you.”

“Be assured that you’ll enjoy all of this cosmic magic and shimmer like the star that you are!” Thomas says, though insists you “hustle forward” around these ideas now before Jupiter retrograde begins.

Virgo (Aug. 23 to Sept. 22)

VirgoVirgo

Virgo

Jupiter has been igniting your sector of professional ascent, Virgo, and will continue to do so until June 9, 2025! You’re set to experience “a year of tremendous career growth and advancement around your ambitions,” predicts Thomas, noting “big wins” could all be yours.

However, Thomas stresses the importance of putting in the work to achieve these goals rather than “sitting back and letting the universe do all the work.” His advice? “Strike while the irons are hot!”

If for some reason you aren’t finding the open roads in your career, Thomas says “you may need to pivot in a new direction or try your hand at something else altogether.” Whichever it may be, work towards it now before the Jupiter retrograde begins on Oct. 9.

Libra (Sept. 23 to Oct. 22)

LibraLibra

Libra

Jupiter has been in your sector of expansion, Libra, and will stay there until June 9, 2025. “Big things await,” predicts Thomas, “as you’ll feel invigorated for change, spontaneity and to pursue personal and professional growth.”

“You’ll feel and appear more magnetic and inspired, as you hunger for adventure,” he continues, listing several areas you could be eager to pursue in the months ahead. Among them include “long-distance travel, immigration, international business, media endeavors, academics or legalities.”

It’s crucial to put yourself out there and take flight towards these goals, though. Thomas says to “hustle forward” before Jupiter retrograde “slows down” this energy and requires you to self-reflect and manifest instead of seizing ahead.

Scorpio (Oct. 23 to Nov. 21)

ScorpioScorpio

Scorpio

Jupiter has been dancing in your sector of intimacy, Scorpio, which further helps you get closer, more vulnerable and more sensual with a significant other. According to Thomas, “only Scorpios in established unions will be able to revel in that energy” until June 9 of next year.

He says all Scorpios, however, will be “gifted opportunities around wealth creation, assets, investments or large money matters.” For instance, he says you could “reach a big settlement or get a large payout.”

Work towards these goals now! The Jupiter retrograde could “slow down” these areas of your life until February 2025, Thomas says.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 to Dec. 21)

SagittariusSagittarius

Sagittarius

Your attention has shifted, Sagittarius, and now focuses on relationships. With Jupiter dancing across the sky from you, Thomas predicts this priority will last until June 9, 2025.

“Those in established unions could find that they’re growing together in beautiful ways,” predicts Thomas, suggesting “long-term promises, getting engaged, moving in or even getting married” as possibilities. “This can aid those in business unions, too.”

Those who are single can “harness this glow” as well! According to Thomas, “You could align with a soulmate connection that mirrors you, pushes you out of your comfort zone and provides the sense of connection you’ve been dearly craving.”

Put yourself out there to show the universe you’re ready! Be sure you make those moves before Oct. 9 when Jupiter retrograde begins.

Capricorn (Dec. 22 to Jan. 19)

CapricornCapricorn

Capricorn

Expect the pace of life to quicken and your daily responsibilities to increase, Capricorn! “You may now find you’re working much harder,” predicts Thomas.

But this is a good thing! “You’ll be firing on all cylinders, managing many routines and your work-life balance,” he explains. “Relationships with coworkers or staff who report to you will improve.”

If you’d like to improve your physical health, diet or fitness, Thomas says “you’ll find many opportunities to do so” at this time thanks to Jupiter’s dance through the heavens. Be sure to “hustle forward” now before the planet retrograde on Oct. 9, which may “slow down” your goals.

Aquarius (Jan. 20 to Feb. 18)

AquariusAquarius

Aquarius

Your life has been feeling vibrant, colorful and magical, Aquarius, and will continue to feel that way until June 9, 2025. Thomas predicts “you’ll have luck around true love, dating, children, hobbies, sports, creativity and expression” for over a year.

“Your free time for hobbies and art should also improve,” he adds. “Many of you could also feel like stars or celebrities as people applaud your talents and skills… the year ahead looks dazzling!”

Make the most of the shimmering energy now! When Jupiter goes into retrograde on Oct. 9, the momentum is likely to “slow down” until February 2025. Then, you may be encouraged to do “some inner review to manifest better around those areas” during that time.

Pisces (Feb. 19 to March 20)

PiscesPisces

Pisces

Jupiter has been gracing your sector of home, family and domesticity, Pisces. Thomas predicts that “relations with your kindred should certainly improve, especially those with parents.”

He explains, “You may enjoy more joy at home, whether that be simply feeling like you’re on stable ground or that you’re having more people over to entertain them.” He adds, “You may move, relocate, renovate, redecorate or even get into real estate.”

Thomas also notes “your emotional life should improve,” but says you “may be more nostalgic and reflective” at the same time. “People from past lives could enter your life during the year ahead and you’d likely sense the connection quite immediately,” he puts forth.

Make moves towards your goals before Jupiter retrograde begins on Oct. 9. Then, Thomas says “you may notice that areas of your life slow down or you will feel required to return to past experiences.”
